He’s not quite so big now!

Danny Horobin is one of the newest members of the Elite Athlete Programme. But he hasn’t always been in shape; he used to be a bit bigger.

After a chance visit to a friend’s gym, Danny turned things around and now has big plans. This is his story.

What is your fitness background?

Before January this year I’d never been into any kind of sport or fitness other than weight lifting at home. I lifted quite often in my early 20s and I never really had a problem with my weight, but that faded out in my mid 20s and I started piling on the pounds.

Why did you decide to transform your body?

In October 2013, a friend talked me into going to his home gym to start lifting weights again, I was somewhat reluctant as I’d slipped into a comfort zone but I decided to give it a go. Within a week of lifting again I realised it was time to completely change my body.

What was your training like?

I started off training 3 days a week at my friend’s gym and started gaining strength, but more size. By December I’d grown to 19 stone 4lb and I was gutted! I then spent Christmas researching various meal plans and training plans with the use of social media; I then made a meal plan.

On New Year’s Day I joined the local fitness gym and started my extensive cardio and core workouts; 6 times a week an hour at a time.

What was your diet like?

I kept it simple, and still do. 6 small low carb, low fat meals a day.

What supplements did you use?

I supplemented my diet with Matrix Proman multi vitamins, creatine, BCAA, Night Shredder and pre-workout supplements like BSN NO-Xplode. That was until October when I introduced Matrix Anabolic Gold into my meal plan.

How do you feel about your transformation?

In October I had dropped to 14 stone 7lb – I felt amazing. I had energy and nothing seemed to require effort. Not only had I transformed the shape of my body but my whole mind set.

In October I decided I want more from this, so I joined a new larger well equipped gym. I now want to achieve a competition physique with the aim of competing in the new year.

What are your plans for the future?

I’ve put in place a training plan for my aim and I’ve also enrolled onto a personal training course as I would love to be able to help others achieve their goals.

I would like to thank my friends/followers on social media for their support and advice they have given me in the last year, and a special thanks to Supplement Centre for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Supplement Centre Elite Athlete Programme.

It’s given me an extra boost to fuel my future.
